Pancake Breakfast 2009– Mesquite, TX
It is time to raise money so we can give
away MORE AMTRYKES THIS YEAR THAN EVER
BEFORE! Saturday December 5, 2009.
Evans Community Center, Mesquite Texas.
Last years benefit breakfast was a great
success!
We want to thank all of our
volunteers who have dedicated so much
time and effort to this project. A few
hundred people attended the event this
year. Our organization raised over
$30,000. We would like to give very
special thanks to those individuals
and businesses. None of this could
have been possible without their
donations. These proceeds go toward
our AmTrykes
program, Therapist scholarship
program, Family Assistance Santa
program, and other community projects.
Here are a few pictures we would
like to share.
AMBUCS is an acronym for American Business Clubs. It
was founded in 1922 by William L. White in
Birmingham, Alabama. The organization originally had
over 50 members. They adopted the club's
constitution and motto - "Shoulders together". This
is a powerful concept meaning we can make a
difference together and carries a strong bond of
friendship and fellowship. Today AMBUCS has grown to
include 130 chapters in 15 states.
The Mesquite AMBUCS is one of the earliest chapters in
the Southwest. It was chartered in 1984 by is founding members, Royce
McCoy and Brad Hanley. They saw the importance of this organization as a way
to enrich our community and effect the lives of deserving
individuals that needed help. For more details about our
chapter, click here.
We participate in many community projects such as building
access
ramps for families that need them. We also donate our
time and resources to various other local organizations in
order to help those in need through service.
The AMBUCS scholarship program is
a great way for therapist to help fund their college career.
For over 50 years, National AMBUCS™, Inc. has been awarding
scholarships to therapy students in their junior/senior year
in a bachelor’s degree program, or a graduate program
leading to a master’s or doctoral degree.
Awards are based on financial need, US citizenship,
commitment to local community, demonstrated academic
accomplishment, character for compassion and integrity, and
career objectives.
